Overview:

The Senior PTC Systems Engineer - CAD/BOS is responsible for the successful implementation of the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) System and associated PTC Back Office Servers (BOS). In this role the candidate will be considered the expert on CAD and BOS systems and be expected to provide leadership and guidance in these subject areas. They need to have hands-on experience with the design and configuration of complicated large scale server based systems. The Senior PTC Systems Engineer -CAD/BOS must be able to design and configure applications and systems in a rail environment. Successful candidates will be detail oriented, organized, able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, and display a high aptitude and interest for problem solving. The Senior PTC Systems Engineer - CAD/BOS will work under the supervision of the PTC Program Manager.

What our Senior PTC Systems Engineer - CAD/BOS does:

Be the expert in CAD and PTC BOS systems
Manage and maintain the CAD and PTC BOS systems
Be an integral member of the Internal PTC Team
Work directly with the PTC Implementation Systems Integrators
Design and configure systems equipment such as servers
Rack and test equipment in their lab
Troubleshoot lab and field production systems
Interact with Railroad personnel in both field and office settings

Qualifications


Requirements:
Undergraduate (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS, MIS, Business, or Engineering
Experience in formal integration/testing methods
Software development experience preferred
Knowledge of railroad systems operations, engineering principles and concepts, and general operating rules preferred
Hands on Individual who can do the work themselves not just direct others
Proven ability to provide creative and elegant solutions to problems
Excellent written and oral communication skills Demonstrated ability to learn and use new technologies
