Job description

SENSIS
Who we are:

An integrated cross-cultural marketing agency. We reflect and embrace the cultural diversity of America to develop meaningful marketing programs that drive measurable conversions.
We opened our doors in 1998 (as Focus Multimedia). We got our start building websites and have expanded into a full-service advertising agency, helping our clients take advantage of the fundamental changes taking place in the marketing world - the emergence of digital technologies, expanded multiculturalism, and the transformative impact of social media.
What we are looking for:
Sensis is seeking a full-time PR & Communications Associate who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced, and growth-oriented agency environment. The Associate will support integrated communications programs for government, healthcare, transportation, nonprofit, and consumer clients. This role is ideal for a strong writer and creative problem-solver who is interested in public relations, multicultural communications, digital media, and community engagement.
What you'll be doing:
  • Account Management: Support client relationships and help develop and implement strategic communications plans across earned, owned, social, and paid media.
  • Writing and Content Development: Draft, edit, and proofread press releases, media pitches, talking points, articles, social content, presentations, reports, and other communications materials.
  • Media Relations: Research relevant journalists and outlets, develop media lists, pitch stories, coordinate interviews, and track coverage.
  • Digital and Social Media: Help develop and execute social media strategies, editorial calendars, community-management plans, and digital content based on platform best practices.
  • Research: Conduct research related to client industries, audiences, cultural trends, media opportunities, competitors, and new business initiatives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Support communications strategies that engage diverse communities and stakeholders, encourage participation, and foster constructive dialogue.
  • Campaign Execution: Coordinate communications activities across internal teams, clients, partners, vendors, and community organizations.
  • Measurement and Reporting: Monitor campaign performance, media coverage, social engagement, and emerging opportunities; help prepare reports and recommendations.
  • Agency Support: Contribute to proposals, presentations, brainstorms, award submissions, case studies, and other agency initiatives.
What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, political science, public policy, marketing, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of relevant communications, public relations, marketing, public affairs, or agency experience.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, research, and storytelling skills.
  • Strong understanding of media relations, social media platforms, and the digital marketing landscape.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, media contacts, and community partners.
  • Commitment to collaboration, accountability, cultural understanding, and high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and solve problems strategically.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with communications, research, project-management, and emerging technology tools.
  • Awareness of current news, media, cultural, and digital trends.
  • Ability to participate in regular in-person collaboration; this is not a fully remote position.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Agency or client-service experience.
  • Experience supporting government, healthcare, transportation, nonprofit, or social-impact clients.
  • Experience communicating with multicultural and multilingual audiences.
  • Familiarity with media-monitoring and social-listening platforms
  • Spanish-language proficiency or proficiency in another language.
