The Undergraduate Honors, Research, and Community Engagement Office in the School of Health Professions at the University of Alabama at Birmingham is seeking applications for a one-year STEM Education Postdoctoral Fellow, with the ability to extend the agreement for an additional year. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director for Undergraduate Honors Research, and Community Engagement to teach, develop and assess curricula to increase student success.
Primary Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following. The postdocs efforts will be: 60% Teaching, 35% research, and 5% service.
  • Utilize high impact teaching practices to teach courses for the Blazer Core "City as a Classroom" course and Honors Teamwork and Leadership Coursework.
  • Utilize validated tools to assess CORE course efficacy in teaching students' transferable skills.
  • Produce scholarly work associated with high impact practices and validated tools in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with the various programs and departments on campus regarding student success
  • Curriculum development aligned with research-based practices in undergraduate education
  • Other duties as assigned
