Job description

Cape Fox Concentric Methods, LLC is accepting resumes for a full-time Medical Laboratory Technician to support the Navy Facility at Camp Pendleton California. The total hourly pay for this non-exempt position is $45.84 which is comprised of a base hourly rate of $40.91 plus $4.93 per hour Health & Welfare (H&W) rate. This is for up to 40 hours per week as required by the Service Contract Labor Standards (SCLS) regulations

This rate represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. In addition, for eligible positions we offer a variety of benefits including specified holidays, paid leave, health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life and disability insurance, tuition reimbursement, as well as 401K with company match. This job will be posted until filled or withdrawn.

Schedule: 12-hour shifts; 3 shifts 1 week and 4 shifts the next week. Overtime is paid for hours worked over 8 hours a day. Shifts will include weekends and holidays.

Requirements: Graduate from a medical laboratory technician training program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) OR the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) OR educational program acceptable to the American Medical Technologist (AMT). Certification/registration as determined by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or the American Medical Technologist (AMT). One year of experience after graduation.

Responsibilities: Perform a full range of clinical laboratory tests in any one or a combination of the following sections of the laboratory: hematology, chemistry, cytology, histotechnology, urinalysis, serology, microbiology and blood bank. Determine the suitability of specimens for analysis. Prepare specimens for analysis and ensure that the physiologic state of the properties is maintained.

Prepare reagents and primary reference materials as necessary. Calibrate, standardize, adjust, and maintain instruments. Verify correct instrument operation using established procedures and quality control checks.

Identify the cause of common problems and make simple repairs. Recognize and react to indicators of malfunction. Locate and implement corrections.

Obtain analytical data, convert to a prescribed unit of reporting, as necessary, and correlate data to verify results. Conduct quality control procedures on equipment, reagents and products and maintain proper records for quality control and quality assurance reports. Prepare specimens for transport to laboratory or for mail out.

Prepare biological waste for proper disposal. Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail. Self-motivated with minimal oversight.
