This role partners with Operations, Safety, and Training teams to develop, implement, and maintain best practices aligned with PAR and Quanta standards, client requirements, and regulatory expectations.

The mentor plays a critical role in improving field execution by reinforcing technical skills, promoting operational consistency, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a strong safety culture. Acting as a trusted advisor and role model, this position helps crews and leaders achieve high standards of safety, quality, productivity, and professionalism across transmission, distribution, substation, drilling, and specialty construction projects.

  • Teach and reinforce trade skills related to transmission, distribution, substation, drilling, electrical theory, tools, equipment, and construction standards.
  • Observe field work, evaluate performance, and provide feedback to improve safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Identify training needs and assist with onboarding, training materials, best practices, and hands-on instruction.
  • Support major projects, pre-job planning, ONJ training, field discussions, and post-incident learning efforts.

Work Methods & Operational Excellence

  • Develop, implement, and maintain standardized work methods, job procedures, and construction practices aligned with PAR and Quanta standards.
  • Conduct field observations, job assessments, and audits to ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, OSHA regulations, and productivity goals.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Safety, Engineering, and Training teams to improve construction methods and operational efficiency.
  • Research tools, technologies, and equipment to enhance work execution and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyze job performance trends and participate in regional operations discussions to identify opportunities for improvement and alignment across projects.

Leadership & Professional Role Modeling

  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, accountability, and strong communication skills in all interactions.
  • Build positive relationships with crews, supervisors, project managers, and operations teams.
  • Serve as a trusted technical resource and role model for safe, effective work practices.
  • Promote PAR's mission, values, and culture of Safety, Integrity, Quality, and Service.
  • Participate in incident investigations and support corrective actions and method improvements.
What You'll Bring

Education & Experience

  • Journeyman Lineman certification or equivalent field experience preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical utility construction, work methods, safety, training, or field leadership roles.
  • Field experience in transmission, distribution, substation, or specialty construction strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong understanding of utility construction techniques, equipment, industry standards, and safe work practices.
  • Ability to translate technical information into clear, practical procedures and training materials.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative approach to leadership and mentoring.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with digital documentation systems and field data platforms is a plus.
  • Demonstrated commitment to PAR and Quanta's culture of safety and operational excellence.
What You'll Get

PAR offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
