Engineering Intern

Knowles Cornell Dubilier | Liberty, SC


Overview:

The Engineering Intern will support the Engineering and Manufacturing teams at Knowles Cornell Dubilier in Liberty, SC by assisting with process improvement, production support, data analysis, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives within a high-performance capacitor manufacturing environment.



Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist engineers with day-to-day manufacturing, process, and production support activities.
  • Support continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze production data to identify trends, issues, and improvement opportunities.
  • Help document standard work instructions, process procedures, technical reports, and project updates.
  • Participate in troubleshooting activities related to equipment, materials, processes, and production flow.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for quality or process-related issues.
  • Assist with time studies, process mapping, layout reviews, and workflow improvement projects.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Operations, Quality, Maintenance, and EHS.
  • Help evaluate manufacturing processes and recommend practical improvements.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment while following company policies and procedures.



Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong interest in manufacturing, process improvement, and hands-on engineering support.
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles, problem solving, and data analysis.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, procedures, or specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to organize data and communicate findings clearly.
