Job Title: Graphic Design Intern
Location: McLean, VA (HQ)

SUMMARY

Join alongside the MARCOM Team as a Graphic Design Intern, supporting our creative function by assisting in the development of visual assets and artifacts across digital and print platforms. This internship provides hands-on experience in real-world design projects, exposure to brand standards, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design & Creative Support

Assist in creating visual assets for digital platforms, including social media graphics, web visuals, and PowerPoint presentations
Support the design of print materials such as flyers, posters, brochures, and event collateral
Contribute to concept development, mood boards, and visual storytelling
Adapt and resize existing designs for multiple formats and platforms

Brand & Visual Consistency
Apply brand guidelines consistently across all design work
Help maintain and organize brand assets, templates, and design files
Ensure designs align with the organization's tone, audience, and objectives

Collaboration & Feedback
Collaborate with marketing, communications, or creative team members on assigned projects
Participate in creative reviews and incorporate feedback into design iterations
Communicate progress, challenges, and ideas during regular check-ins

Production & Asset Management
Prepare final design files for digital publishing or print production
Organize and archive design files following internal naming and storage conventions
Assist with basic photo editing, image sourcing, and asset optimization

Learning & Professional Development
Gain exposure to the full design workflows from concept to final delivery
Learn best practices for designing within real-world timelines and constraints
Attend team meetings, creative reviews, and (if applicable) client or stakeholder briefings

QUALIFICATIONS

WORKING CONDITIONS

Agile Defense HQ office in McLean, VA. General office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing and walking for up to 20% of the time. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are not hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
Strength Demands
Sedentary - 10 lbs. Maximum lifting, occasional lift/carry of small articles. Some occasional walking or standing may be required. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
