Title: Communication Assistant (Seasonal)

Classification: Part-Time

Reports to: Communications Coordinator

Summary:

The Milwaukee Bucks Communications Seasonal Assistant will assist the Bucks Communications Department with its day-to-day responsibilities throughout the 2026-27 season. The individual for this role is an experienced Milwaukee-area college junior or senior who is reliable, hardworking, detail-oriented and interested in working in the sports industry. The Bucks Communications Seasonal Assistant is a part-time position with approximately 15-25 working hours per week (including nights, weekends and holidays) between game nights at Fiserv Forum, remote and in-office work.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile daily statistics every morning, including weekends and holidays, and send to select Bucks staff and broadcasters
  • Compile daily clips email of Bucks, Fiserv Forum and Deer District media coverage to the company every weekday morning
  • Assist on game nights at Fiserv Forum by:
  • Printing media seating labels and setting up media seating areas
  • Distributing credentials and meal vouchers to media
  • Helping to facilitate pregame and postgame press conferences
  • Printing and distributing in-game statistics to team benches and broadcasters
  • Being a welcoming, friendly and helpful representative of the Communications Department for media, broadcasters and the visiting team’s PR/Communications staff, broadcasters and traveling media
  • Further non-gameday daily responsibilities will vary, but can be expected to include:
  • Media monitoring
  • Press release writing
  • Assistance tracking team statistics and milestones
  • Assistance on in-season publications
  • Assistance at press conferences and media events
  • Administrative tasks for the department


Qualifications:

  • Junior or senior attending college in the Milwaukee area pursuing a degree in communications, public relations, journalism or similar field (Note: local candidates are strongly preferred)
  • Available to work the majority of Bucks home games in person, work remotely and work in an office setting
  • Available to complete remote work nearly every morning during the 2026-27 season, including weekends and holidays
  • Possess strong communication skills, both written and oral, and effective attention to detail, time management and organization skills
  • Able to listen to and follow directions quickly and efficiently while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable working near and with NBA players, coaches and front office staff
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Understanding of/previous experience with using AP style preferred
  • Knowledge of basketball, the NBA and sports journalism/public relations/communications preferred
  • Previous experience working in sports, sports media and/or journalism preferred
