As our SWAT RN, you will be a vital resource for ensuring the continuity of high-quality patient care across St. Elizabeth Hospital. This critical role involves navigating various clinical departments, including ICU and PCU, to provide expert nursing interventions, manage complex patient needs, and serve as a clinical leader during high-acuity periods. You will act as a bridge between nursing administration and bedside teams, ensuring that every patient receives prompt, evidence-based care while maintaining the highest standards of safety and regulatory compliance.


Every day you will perform a wide range of specialized duties, including administering complex medications, managing Central Venous Access Devices (CVADs), and demonstrating clinical excellence in bedside ultrasound-guided PICC insertions. Your responsibilities will involve performing therapeutic phlebotomies, facilitating procedural sedation, and assisting with bed control and patient flow. You will also provide mentorship to novice clinicians, handle service recovery and incident reporting, and advocate for patient needs while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal clinical outcomes.


To be successful in this role, you will hold a Diploma of Nursing from an accredited school and possess 1–3 years of critical care or emergency department experience. You must be a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Washington with active BLS and ACLS certifications. We are looking for a professional with exceptional critical thinking skills, a deep understanding of vascular systems and infusion therapies, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, heavy-demand hospital environment. If you are a collaborative leader dedicated to patient safety and clinical excellence.

  • Adheres to the department’s and hospital’s policies and procedures, including safety, risk management and regulatory standards.
  • Keeps abreast of trends, developments and regulatory requirements impacting matters within designated scope of responsibility.
  • Administers, oversees and documents the administration of medications (e.g., topically, orally, intramuscularly, subcutaneously and intravenously) as ordered by the healthcare practitioner and in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Assesses patient to include physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental and spiritual needs. Gathers data relevant for patient care.
  • Implements appropriate patient interventions and evaluates outcomes. Plans care appropriately based on needs identified during initial and on-going assessments. Provides holistic, comprehensive, and professional nursing care to patient within the scope of practice. Prepares patient for discharge and assists with coordinating post discharge needs.
  • Ensures management is apprised of concerns and incidents. Maintains and applies knowledge of quality and SafetyFirst-related initiatives and requirements. Assists with monitoring of regulatory and auditing requirements.

Required 

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing

Minimum of one (1) year of RN critical care and/or emergency department work experience or 

Completion of a critical care residency (or completion within first twelve months after hire in the position)

Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) through the American Heart Association (AHA) 

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
