We are currently seeking a motivated Trader Trainee to join our North American team for a 12-month trainee program, which may lead to a full-time position upon successful completion. The ideal candidate should exhibit curiosity, resilience, a growth mindset, adaptability to change, and a strong team spirit.
In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in trading steel products by engaging with suppliers and customers, supporting the execution of transactions, and developing essential trading skills. You will learn to navigate our supply chains and contribute to building profitable outcomes for the organization.
Job Description
This position is located in Houston, Texas, and domestic travel may be required.
Training Rotations
  • Logistics Rotation: Learn how steel products are transported globally, assisting in shipment coordination and logistics management.
  • Sales Operations & Risk Management Rotation: Develop commercial discipline and skills in contract management, customer interactions, and risk assessment.
  • Trading Desk Rotations: Gain exposure to trading desks, understanding market dynamics, pricing strategies, and supplier negotiations.

As part of your trainee program, you will
  • Participate in the purchasing and sales process of steel products, supporting sourcing from suppliers to concluding contracts with buyers.
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers and suppliers.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to support new business development initiatives.
  • Assist in resolving claims effectively and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and open communication.
  • Ensure compliance with internal requirements and legal regulations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
