The Role

As a member of the GM semiconductor purchasing team, you will be part of developing a strong semiconductor supply chain to support our fast-growing electronics & software needs.

Specifically, you will be responsible for a particular semicategory category and actively leading the development of commodity strategies, sourcing/negotiations, budget, and execution. You will manage relationships, collaborate with suppliers and internal key stakeholders including engineering, legal, finance, operations and drive cross-functional alignment. Work is of a complex nature involving a considerable amount of initiative, analytical work and a high level of independent judgment.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies based on business, market, and technology trends and establish strong and competitive supply base

  • Responsible for purchase of all or a specific portion of productive and/or non-productive materials, supplies, machinery, tooling and/or services

  • Negotiate price, terms, and other items to complete full contract package

  • Optimize supply performance by analyzing and applying appropriate tools including benchmarking, cost and value chain analysis, negotiations, supply chain analysis

  • Work closely with cross functional partners internally and externally to trade off imperatives, identify creative solutions, and gain alignment, incl during RFQ management, change management, Procure to Pay, order fulfillment, and customer satisfaction

  • Drive for winning outcomes that are focused on the mission of the business

  • Develop and manage great supplier relationships

  • Provide pro-active communication and resolution of issues

  • Develop protection of supply and contingency plans

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)

  • 5+ years relevant experience in purchasing, supply chain, program/product management, logistics or product development (any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)

  • Experience in Semiconductors

  • Experience managing and negotiating commercial issues with suppliers as well as contract drafting, redlining, and working cross functionally with legal

  • Proven leadership capability

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise, and problem-solve

  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholders within time constraints, as well as building relationships internally & externally

  • Experience working in a fast-paced and evolving environment

  • Highly proficient oral and written communication skills and adept at engaging and presenting to Senior Executives

  • Demonstrates ability to develop and apply deep cost knowledge

  • Knowledge of procurement and materials software, as well as MS software applications

  • 10% travel internationally and domestically

What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business,Supply Chain, Engineering, Finance, or related field

  • MBA or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability

Compensation:

  • The salary range for this role is $124,200 - 197,800.The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

  • Bonus Potential:An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
