Job description

Job Title: Commodity Manager, Indirect ProcurementJob Description
The Commodity Manager, Indirect Procurement leads strategic sourcing and category management for global indirect spend, with a primary focus on Marketing and IT Services, including SaaS and professional services. This role drives total cost of ownership improvements, builds high-impact supplier strategies, and partners closely with senior stakeholders to create measurable business value in a fast-paced technology environment.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute global sourcing strategies for Marketing Services, Technology Services, IT Services, SaaS, and Professional Services categories.
  • Align sourcing initiatives with corporate objectives, budget goals, and stakeholder requirements to support broader business strategies.
  • Analyze spend data, supplier markets, and industry trends to identify optimization opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
  • Drive total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements across assigned commodities through strategic sourcing and value-focused initiatives.
  • Own supplier selection, onboarding, and ongoing performance management for key indirect categories.
  • Establish supplier governance frameworks, including performance metrics and KPIs, to ensure high-quality service and reliability.
  • Lead quarterly business reviews with strategic suppliers and drive supplier development initiatives to enhance performance and innovation.
  • Promote supplier innovation and continuous improvement efforts that support business growth and operational efficiency.
  • Lead complex RFPs, RFQs, and sourcing events, ensuring structured, competitive, and transparent processes.
  • Negotiate pricing, service levels, commercial terms, and contractual agreements to achieve cost savings and value creation.
  • Identify and execute opportunities for cost reduction, risk mitigation, and value enhancement across the supplier base.
  • Partner with Legal and Finance teams to structure favorable contracts and manage commercial and compliance risks.
  • Develop supplier risk management strategies and contingency plans to ensure supply continuity and resilience.
  • Monitor supplier performance through defined KPIs, scorecards, and risk assessments, and take corrective action when needed.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical sourcing standards, and governance requirements.
  • Support governance and compliance initiatives across global supplier networks, promoting transparency and accountability.
  • Partner closely with Finance, IT, Marketing, Operations, and Executive Leadership to align procurement strategies with business needs.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders on sourcing strategies, supplier selection, and negotiation approaches.
  • Drive alignment between procurement objectives and broader organizational goals, ensuring measurable business impact.
  • Operate autonomously in a fast-paced technology environment, leading high-stakes negotiations and complex sourcing initiatives.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing indirect procurement categories, including Marketing Services, Technology Services, IT Services, SaaS, and Professional Services.
  • Proven success leading complex supplier negotiations and high-impact sourcing events.
  • Strong experience developing and implementing global sourcing strategies for indirect categories.
  • Advanced contract negotiation skills with the ability to structure favorable commercial terms and manage risk.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and spend management expertise, including the ability to interpret data and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Expertise in supplier relationship management and performance management, including governance frameworks and KPIs.
  • Experience partnering with Finance and executive stakeholders to align procurement initiatives with financial and strategic objectives.
  • Ability to operate autonomously, influence senior stakeholders, and drive measurable cost savings and performance improvements.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience supporting a global organization and managing cross-regional supplier relationships.
  • Technology or SaaS industry experience, ideally within a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment.
  • Experience managing multi-million-dollar supplier portfolios and delivering measurable business value.
  • Professional procurement certifications such as CPSM, CPM, CIPS, CSCP, or equivalent.
  • MBA preferred, reflecting advanced business and strategic management training.
  • Familiarity with procurement analytics tools and modern sourcing technologies.
  • Background or exposure to software development or SaaS-related procurement considered an advantage.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders.
  • Comfort working in complex, high-stakes negotiation settings and driving continuous improvement in supplier performance.

This role operates in a remote work environment, offering flexibility and autonomy while supporting a global organization in the technology and SaaS space. You will collaborate virtually with cross-functional teams across Finance, IT, Marketing, Operations, and Executive Leadership, leveraging procurement analytics and sourcing technologies to manage multi-million-dollar supplier portfolios. The position is well-suited to professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, digitally driven setting and are comfortable leading complex sourcing initiatives and negotiations from a remote location.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
