GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:  A Multiple Store Manager is expected to know and master all business applications, create and execute business plans, review profit and loss statements, develop and manage complex budgets, develop and execute human resource development of all team members and provide fact-based feedback and coaching.

 

A Multiple Store Manager must have the ability to master SWOT analysis (strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats) to capture competitive market share.  The Multiple Store Manager is responsible for the efficiency and control of all store functions, organizational habits and behaviors; oversees and directs all departments to ensure smooth operations and reviews team members’ performance.  Manages and ensures proper training and development of all store personnel.  The Multiple Store Manager is also responsible for interviewing and hiring new employees, promotions, acknowledgments, discipline, transfers and terminations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.   Through a team comprised of subordinate supervisors and non-supervisory employees, the Multiple Store Manager uses general management skills and principals to direct the development, implementation, and execution of business strategies focused on employee development, customer loyalty, market share and revenue growth and sustained profitability.  The Multiple Store Manager has full P/L accountability for their assigned store(s) and takes proactive measures to analyze the business environment in which they operate and formulate systems and plans that continually move the business toward the Company’s performance objectives.

 

Both directly and through subordinate supervisors, the Multiple Store Manager oversees all departments to ensure smooth operations and clear communication lines are kept; i.e., tint process, ordering process, delivery process and customer-facing operations.  Reviews and ranks team members’ performance for the purpose of development and progress of team members.  Provides input and makes decisions regarding hiring, promotions, transfers, discipline, acknowledgments and terminations.  Directs and implements employee training and development programs.  Manages and maintains store personnel morale.  Resolves customer complaints and issues.  Directs team on building good customers relations.  Coordinates interdepartmental cooperation.  Develops and manages procedural documents and strategic planning of procedural improvements.  Develops and conducts weekly meetings with subordinate management team for financial updates, store and corporate goals and regional directives.  Manages banking operations, daily opening and closing procedures.  Enforces rules and regulations.  Recruits, interviews and selects prospective employees.  Directs and manages employees’ work schedules.  Prioritizes and re-prioritizes employees’ workloads.  Responsible for employee discipline whenever necessary.  Determines and develops sales techniques to be used.  Apportions and supervises work among the store employees.  Determines materials, supplies, machinery or tools to be used or merchandise to be bought, stocked and sold.  Controls the flow and distribution of materials or merchandise and supplies.  Responsible for the safety and training of the employees.  Responsible for site security and loss prevention of all Dunn-Edwards property.  Acts as a coach to his/her direct reports.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  Multiple Store Managers manage more than one store location.  There may be multiple subordinate supervisors who report to this position.  The names of the departments supervised by this position are: Tint, Wallcovering Websites, Equipment Repair, Industrial Tint Centers, Contractor Services, Dunn Hub, Counter Sales, Drivers, Warehouse Personnel and co-manage Professional Color Advisors.  There are 3-25 employees, in total, who report to this position.  There are other supervisory and non-supervisory employees who report directly to this position.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:  Bachelor’s degree (preferred) or two years related experience and/or training.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:  For safety reasons, ability to read, write, and communicate in English is required.  Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.  Ability to review budget history and forecast annual budgets.

 

REASONING ABILITY:  Ability to identify and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to identify and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
