Job Overview:
The Systems Technician installs new electrical systems and repairs existing electrical systems while maintaining compliance with national, state and local electrical codes.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Tasks
  • Program, commission and start-up of Low Voltage systems including but not limited to (Fire Alarm, Security, Access Control and Surveillance)
  • Installation and testing of low voltage devices, wiring and rough-in
  • Supervises, directs, monitors, trains and works alongside helpers, installers, telecom techs or electricians
  • Instructs employees assisting them in the correct operation of tools and equipment, safe work principles and technical principles that are being used
  • Provides input on employee evaluations
  • Completes all assignment-related paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
  • Attends all foreman meetings
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance with minimal loss of work time
  • Collaborates with Fire Marshal on project final inspections
  • Effectively trouble shoot and diagnose installation and programming issues.
  • Identifies, schedules and facilitates all jobsite related inspections with Customer and Field Service Manager

Compensation:
Rex Moore pays hourly/salary rates commensurate with each employee's knowledge, experience and skill level.
Work environment:
Active commercial job site under construction performing the following:
  • Wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE), always including a hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, work boots and high viz vest/ shirt
  • Working around energized equipment
  • Working days, night, weekends, and overtime as required
  • Willing and able to work in confined and/or small spaces
  • Constant collaboration with fellow team members
  • This role requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain & snow

  • Holds current Fire Life Safety card
  • Holds current ACE card
  • Demonstrates proficiency in all aspects of fire alarm, security, access control and surveillance products and services
  • Effectively communicates with managers, sales, foremen, general contractors and customers
  • Demonstrates good initiative and keeps organized & busy throughout the work day.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • EST Certified Preferred
  • NICET Certification Preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Regularly required to talk in order to communicate detailed and accurate information
  • Regularly required to hear with or without correction in order to receive and interpret detailed information and instructions
  • Regularly required to stand, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch, throughout the day, for long and short periods of time
  • Regularly required to walk for long and short distances in order to accomplish job tasks
  • Regularly required to reach: ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) including reaching in front of body, at shoulder level and above head
  • Regularly required to push and pull. Use upper extremities to press against objects with steady force and exerting force in order to draw, haul, tug, or move objects and materials between locations
  • Regularly required to lift, raise objects from lower to higher positions or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position
  • Regularly required to use fingers and hands in repetitive and non-repetitive motion: twisting, picking, pinching, touching, grasping tools and material equipment and other objects
  • Ability to see with or without correction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Ability to regularly lift or move material up to 75 pounds safely with or without assistance
