Access Control & Security Systems Integrator
Full Time | $35.00–$45.00/hr | West Chicago, IL (95% local, occasional national travel)

Systems We Work With

CCTV & IP video surveillance, structured cabling (copper and composite), intrusion detection, access control, emergency communications, and turnstiles, using leading manufacturers including Cisco, Hanwha, Axis, Bosch, and ASSA ABLOY.

What You'll Do

  • Install, test, and commission commercial security and low voltage systems including CCTV, IP video surveillance, intrusion detection, access control, emergency communications, and turnstiles
  • Rough in, terminate, and test copper, composite, and structured cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, fiber termination a plus)
  • Install pathway supports such as J-hooks, ladder trays, and conduit
  • Service, test, and troubleshoot network cabling and infrastructure in commercial environments
  • Install closet and rack hardware: backboards, connecting blocks, patch panels, fiber enclosures, and network switches
  • Install, test, and commission door hardware, card readers, access control panels, and camera systems
  • Read and work from low voltage system blueprints and riser diagrams, with input on system layout and integration where needed
  • Travel to national job sites as needed

Requirements

What You Bring

  • Experience as a systems integrator, service technician, or installer in security, low voltage, or structured cabling/telecommunications
  • Working knowledge of computer networking (IP, PoE, network switches) as it relates to security systems and remote access
  • Mechanical aptitude for installing sensors, locks, CCTV cameras, card readers, and alarm devices
  • Familiarity with access control systems, IP video surveillance, fire alarm/IDS systems, intercom/emergency communications, and basic locksmithing
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • A positive attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team

Nice to Have

  • Manufacturer certifications, especially with Cisco, Hanwha, Axis, Bosch, or ASSA ABLOY
  • NICET certification or industry credentials (BICSI, ESA, PSA)
