Licensed Massage Therapist

SUMMARY
Licensed Massage Therapists are responsible for providing high-quality, professional spa treatments that support wellness, recovery, and relaxation for guests of The Spa at Tamarack. LMTs will work with guests to assess their needs and deliver tailored services in a peaceful spa setting. This position requires a warm demeanor, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Perform a variety of massage techniques, including but not limited to Swedish, deep tissue, sports massage and body treatments
  • Greet guests and provide thorough consultations to understand needs and tailor services accordingly
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and relaxing treatment environment
  • Uphold professional standards in line with state licensing and spa protocols
  • Educate guests about the benefits of massage and recommend aftercare or future treatments
  • Assist with spa operations, including laundry, room setup, tidying up after guests, and monitoring supply levels to ensure timely reordering
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of spa protocols, massage techniques and wellness practices
  • Actively promote the spa, treatments, enhancements and retail, as well as promotions and/or discounts available
  • Provide excellent customer service to guests, Club members, Tamarack homeowners, and fellow team members
  • Monitor schedule to keep appointments moving smoothly through the spa, via computer or mobile device

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  • Graduate of an accredited Massage Therapy program
  • Prior experience in a spa, resort, or wellness setting preferred
  • Strong knowledge of massage techniques, anatomy, and contraindications

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Current Idaho Massage Therapy License (Licenses from many states can be easily transferred to Idaho)
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain)

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Fluent in English. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with guests and team members. Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply-Spanish or other second languages are a plus.
REASONING SKILLS
Ability to assess guest needs and make appropriate decisions regarding treatment techniques. Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive motions with hands and arms

  • Able to work in fluctuating temperatures

COMPENSATION
Massage Therapists are paid an hourly wage for all clocked-in time, ensuring consistent earnings throughout their shift. In addition to hourly pay, therapists receive a flat-rate commission for each service performed and a percentage-based commission on any retail products sold. Gratuities are offered at the guest's discretion and can significantly enhance overall earnings. This compensation structure is designed to provide both stability and the opportunity to earn more based on performance and guest satisfaction.
