Job description
The role of Controls & Instrument Engineer is to support the Engineering Lead and Product Engineering Manager. They will be accountable for the electrical scope and systems in large scale data centers across the design, construction, assembly, testing, installation, and commissioning phases. The Controls & Instrument Engineer will be responsible for checking and approving
drawings / designs; interface communication, and ensuring the accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and safety of the electrical scope of work for Hyperscale Data Center Modules meets customer's requirements and Industrial Standards.
 Qualifications & Education RequirementsEducation
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited university required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred.
Professional Experience
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in controls and instrumentation engineering/design, preferably supporting mission-critical or data center infrastructure environments.
  • Demonstrated experience with high-density and hyperscale data center facilities.
  • Strong understanding of control systems associated with data center facility modules and critical infrastructure systems.
  • Proven ability to develop engineering drawings, sketches, and conceptual designs to communicate technical solutions effectively.
  • Experience supporting the construction, operation, maintenance, and commissioning of building electrical and control systems.
  • Experience delivering fast-track design/build projects and managing multiple complex upgrade initiatives simultaneously.
  • Ability to review and interpret Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and associated control systems for complex process equipment.
  • Working knowledge of instrumentation devices including control valves, relief valves, and flow measurement systems.
  • Familiarity with ISA instrumentation symbols, standards, and best practices.
  • Understanding of API and ANSI guidelines and their application in engineering design.
  • Ability to evaluate and recommend alternative instrumentation or valve solutions based on cost, operational efficiency, maintainability, schedule, and space constraints.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and equipment that impact or interface with electrical and controls scopes within data center environments.
  • Experience coordinating with regulatory agencies, negotiating code interpretations, and obtaining design approvals and permitting.
