Job description

Overview

We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Service Technicians to join our team. In this role you will need to be familiar with servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing Fire Alarm systems.

Responsibilities
  • Service technicians shall respond to scheduled and emergency service requests and perform in-depth trouble shooting, repair and/or replacement of system equipment.
  • Service Technicians will have the ability to program fire alarm systems or have experience with programing low voltage systems including fire alarm, access control, security or CCTV.
  • Frequently resolve problems through research of multiple alternatives.
  • Communicate and effectively interact with other contractors and building owners.
  • Participate in weekly on call rotation.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Assist customers on site with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Effectively communicate project status to management.
  • Complete all appropriate company paperwork as required.
  • Industry related NICET and/or CA State Certification is preferred or obtain within one year of hire.
  • Experience with the following manufacturers: Edwards/EST, Kidde, Notifier, FireLite, Bosch, Silent Knight, DSC, Telguard, and Gamewell/FCI is preferred.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Applicants must meet requirements in relation to background and driving record.
  • Must be proficient in the use and application of industry related equipment including MS Office.
  • Must have excellent communications skills, using tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Fire Alarm/Low Voltage industry.
  • EST3 and EST4 experience a plus.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing a ladder, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools as required and lifting to 75lbs.
