Closing Date: Continuous
Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Weekend, evenings, and holidays as required. This position will be required to be on call for 3 weekends in a quarter and approximately 3 holidays annually.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are pleased to offer the job opportunity of the Clinical Staff Educator in the DuPage County Care Center. This position is responsible for coordinating training and in-service programs for all levels of staff engaged in nursing and other support services. This position identifies, plans and implements training courses to meet all regulatory requirements in addition to providing for professional development of department staff.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assesses training needs
  • Recommends, plans, and implements new training programs for all levels of personnel
  • Monitors and evaluates appropriateness of training provided to include assessing performance, understanding and application of general care principles
  • Conducts new employee orientation, in-services, and continuing education training programs
  • Coordinates and administers immunization programs including but not limited to Tuberculosis testing/screening, annual influenza shots, Hepatitis B vaccines
  • Coordinates and manages Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Heimlich and other rescue technique programs
  • Serves as liaison to in-house and external healthcare professionals
  • Coordinates in-services with outside providers
  • Participates on committees and multi-disciplinary groups
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with current/changing federal and state laws and regulations and Joint Commission regulation as they relate to long term care staff training requirements
  • Annual preparation and participation in the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), Joint Commission survey and other regulatory reviews
  • Evaluates staff performance and assesses competency levels to maintain compliance with Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and Joint Commission requirements
  • Consults with supervisors throughout the facility to determine training needs
  • Consults with equipment and education material vendors to evaluate the educational applicability of products
  • Develops, maintains and updates related Nursing Department policies and procedures, manuals, programs and forms
  • Orders training supplies
  • Participates in facility Quality Assurance program
  • Maintains resource libraries
  • Prepares and maintains records for nursing education and occupational health

REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field, and three (3) years of experience in education and/or training; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
This position requires the possession of a current license in Illinois as a Professional Registered Nurse (RN).
A post offer physical is required.
A pre-employment background check is required.
