You'll install, maintain, troubleshoot and optimise laboratory automation systems, helping customers keep their equipment running safely, reliably and efficiently.
Working closely with customers and our engineering teams in the UK, you'll use practical engineering skills and analytical problem-solving to diagnose faults, carry out repairs and upgrades, provide training and support long-term system performance.

This role could be a great fit for a recent MSc or PhD graduate in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline who wants to apply their scientific skills in a hands-on, customer-facing technical role.

What You'll Do

  • Carry out preventive maintenance, repairs and system upgrades
  • Provide remote and onsite technical support
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and electromechanical faults
  • Support FAT, SAT and system validation activities
  • Deliver customer training following installation and service visits
  • Investigate technical issues and implement corrective actions
  • Work with Labman UK engineering teams to resolve complex problems
  • Maintain accurate service records and provide field feedback to improve system reliability
  • Build strong, professional relationships with customers

What You'll Need

  • Strong hands-on mechanical, electrical, electromechanical or mechatronics aptitude
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience assembling, repairing, maintaining or troubleshooting technical equipment
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, schematics and technical documentation
  • Confidence using hand tools, diagnostic equipment and measurement instruments
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and take initiative
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout the US
  • Valid US driver's licence and eligibility to travel internationally

Experience with laboratory automation, robotics, scientific instrumentation or industrial automation is advantageous but not essential.

Qualifications
We welcome candidates with a PhD, Master's or Bachelor's degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related discipline.

Practical experience gained through research, laboratory equipment, internships, personal projects or previous technical roles is highly valued.

Most importantly, you'll be curious about how things work, enjoy solving practical problems and be comfortable getting hands-on with complex equipment.

Company Benefits

  • Medical, dental and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and company holidays
  • Company laptop, mobile phone and required service tools
  • Business travel expenses reimbursed
  • Ongoing technical training and career development
