Shift:

  • Hours are 7:30a - 4p.

  • No weekends, holidays or call

Must have breast MRI experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of MRI units, radiology supported computer systems and CD burners.

  • Performs MRI procedures and quality control as defined by departmental protocols.

  • Performs MRI safety screenings for patients and researches implanted devices prior to scanning.

  • Maintains compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in ACR and state licenses. Complies with Joint Commission regulations.

  • Completes all technical assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures in the designated scheduled times.

  • Enters accurate patient study information into the clinical care systems.

  • Assist with the coordination of workflow and patient care activities.

  • Obtain clinical history regarding reason for examination and obtains appropriate consent.

  • Verifies insurance pre-authorization as defined by departmental protocols prior to scanning patient.

  • Maintains patient confidentially.

  • Uses 2 patient identifiers at all times.

  • Demonstrates ability to obtain IV access.

  • Ability to assess patient for adverse reactions and/or changes in patient status.

  • Demonstrates complete knowledge and proficiency in the use of contrast media injectors.

  • Demonstrates knowledge and ability to perform i-STAT testing and accurate calculation of GFR following established departmental policies and procedures.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of ARRT registry in radiologic technology required (two-year accredited program).

  • Completion of ARRT registry in MRI required (achieved within two years of hire).

  • State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.

  • Completion of formal and/or on the job training on cross sectional anatomy.

  • An Associate's degree is required; candidates are required to obtain their Associates of Science degree (can be substituted within a related field), within three (3) years of their start date as outlined in the Education Agreement required to be signed as a condition of employment.

  • Certification in CPR.

  • Yearly PEEPS certification required for proper and safe positioning and transfer of patients.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • State Licensure on Radiation Protection is required.

  • The successful completion of the MRI Registry exam is a job requirement. A technologist, who is recruited and non-certified, will have a grace period of 2 years following hire to pass this exam.

  • Completion of IV training course.

This position pays between $37.38 and $51.40 based on relevant experience.This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
