Job description

Salary: $26.00-$35.00

TheLead Installation Technician for Audiovisual contributes to Pearl Technologys growth by performing high-quality audiovisual installations. The Lead AV Installation Technician may run lead on large audiovisual projects.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Pull, terminate, label, and route cabling per drawings; respect bend radius/conduit fill.
  • Build/dress AV racks; maintain signal separation, ergonomics, and heat management.
  • Install and calibrate displays, projectors, and screens; ensure level/alignment.
  • Rig/mount devices safely in accordance with published safety factors and recommended structures.
  • Design/tune/test MATV & video distribution; handle signal types, resolutions, and transport; troubleshoot.
  • Configure/integrate control & networked devices across topologies and protocols.
  • Capture/record AV signals and verify levels/formats using the appropriate software/hardware.
  • Commission end-to-end systems; verify performance to project/industry standards; document configs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify needs and communicate status/next steps.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve field issues quickly.


Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Accurately track time; follow expense, security, and property SOPs.
  • Maintain certification/license records; safeguard confidential information; follow retention policies.


Professional Development:

  • Stay current on AV tech and company capabilities; pursue training/certifications.
  • Participate in company meetings and learning activities.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Lead crews on mid-to large-scale AV installations/projects.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Certifications, and Licenses:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; CTS and CTS-I preferred.
  • Associate for Quality in Audiovisual Certified Quality Technician (AQAV CQT) is preferred or achievable within first 12 months.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Comprehension of installation and configuration of Crestron, AMX, or similar systems.
  • Audio DSP (QSYS, Audio Architect, Biamp) experience.
  • Networking, troubleshooting, and cable termination expertise.
  • Multi-tasking, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Basic IT knowledge (IP, software adjustments).


Physical & Travel Requirements:

  • Move/transport/install AV equipment up to50 poundsindependently on a regular basis.
  • Regular use of hand and power tools.
  • Frequent ladder work; occasional work on scaffolding/lifts.
  • Occasional work in confined spaces (attics/crawl spaces).
  • Sustained physical activity (standing, walking, lifting, bending); requires manual dexterity, coordination, and core/lower-back endurance.
  • Travel - local/regional up to 90%; national/international up to 10%. Overnight stays may be required for jobs over 2 hours from office; ability to drive to jobsites, meetings, events, and trainings.
