Job description

Car Driver

Safely transport students to and from various schools. Students may have an IEP or other special circumstances. Training will be provided per students special needs and/or circumstances.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the behavior of students being transported
  • Assist in loading and unloading special needs students and to monitor their ride to and from school.
  • Assist in managing the seating of the student so that everyone is safe and secure
  • Basic first aid
  • Oral and communication skills
  • Health and safety regulations
  • Policy and procedures related to student discipline in vehicle

Requirements:

  • Tact, patience, and courtesy with students, parents, and drivers
  • Sitting for extended periods of time
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information
  • Ability to monitor passengers
  • Should be in good physical condition to be able to secure and/or strapping a child into a car seat or booster seat, hooking up a child in a safety vest or fastening a seat belt.

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent
