Principal Product Engineer
Job Description:
As a Product Engineer at MACOM Technology Solutions, you will be a key team member of the New Product Development Engineering team responsible for the release of a diverse portfolio of microwave semiconductor products from MHz to 50GHz+, targeting Satcom, Communications, Test and Measurement, Aerospace and Defense, and general use applications into mass production. The Product Engineer's role includes the development of production tests plans to verify product performance, the design and debug of RF test boards and fixtures for automated test equipment and the statistical analysis of data using sound statistical methodology in order to set test limits and datasheet specifications.. To accomplish these tasks, the Product Engineer will interact closely with Design Engineering, Test Engineering, Applications, Marketing, and Reliability Engineering to analyze and resolve issues, as they relate to sample, pre-production and full production release of a product. You will work with internal and offshore test facilities to release products to production. A strong semiconductor product characterization and test background and the ability to collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines at different geographical location worldwide are essential to the success of this position.
Responsibilities
  • Generate production tests plans to verify product performance
  • Generate product datasheets
  • Design/analyze RF & microwave test boards and fixtures for automated test equipment
  • Set up and perform small and high signal RF measurements in an engineering and production environment
  • Conduct measurement systems analysis (gauge R&R)
  • Analyze data using sound statistical methodology
  • Perform yield analysis and hold meetings of the project team to review the findings
  • Ensure all aspects of product manufacturing, including hardware, documentation, BOMs and costing are in place for the production release of a product
  • Ensure new product introduction is successful and on schedule

Job Qualifications:
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent - Masters degree is a plus
  • More than 7 years of experience as a Product Engineer, Test Engineer, or Applications Engineer in the semiconductor field
  • Knowledge of a wide range of RF/microwave and hybrid products including PIN diodes, attenuators, switches, limiters, and modules.
  • Strong RF/microwave test and measurement skills
  • Experience in the characterization of semiconductor devices
  • Ability to analyze data using sound statistical methodology and effectively present technical information
  • Exceptional team and communication skills to interface with internal cross-functional teams, subcontractors, customers, and vendors.

The Salary Range for this position is $97,900 - $166,600per hour. Actual salary offered to candidates will depend on several factors,including but not limited to, work location, relevant candidates' experience,education, and specific knowledge, skills, and abilities.
