• Position: Software Engineer
• Location: 9975 Federal Drive • Duration: long term, ongoing contract – we are a direct sub to the C2BMC program
• Clearance: Secret, will hold TS if you already have it
• Program – C2BMC "This role is for a Software Engineer working on the C2BMC program. The candidate will mainly focus on Java software development within one of the Regional Applications teams based in Huntsville, such as Battle Management, System-Arch, or Track Server. Working with minimal supervision, the candidate offers specialized expertise across various systems and software fields, while also possessing broad knowledge of related areas, application impacts, and customer requirements. Essential Functions:
• Responsible for in-depth analysis and technical support for systems software products, including complex problem resolution, design, development, testing, operational integration, and user support
• Works from specifications to develop or modify operating system applications
• Assists with the design, coding, benchmark testing, debugging, and documentation of programs
• Interfaces with other system support groups to resolve problems, set standards, and improve the operating system's overall efficiency
• Designs, codes, tests, and implements tools for operational automation
• Works on most phases of software systems programming applications and may need minor guidance in other phases
• Flexibility and willingness to take on unanticipated tasks Basic Qualifications:
Please list your current security clearance and IAT or relevant certifications on your resume, if applicable. • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or 12 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
• Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
• Experience and knowledge of software practices such as coding standards, automated testing, automated build pipelines, and configuration
• Knowledge of software engineering and development, with experience in Java/J2EE or other object-oriented programming
• Experience in developing enterprise applications on Linux; Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to review performance and operational issues, identify the root cause, and recommend, design, and implement a solution
• Utilizes common software development and management tools like Maven, Git/GitHub, Nexus, and Eclipse
• Experience working with Agile development methodologies
• Understanding of standard systems engineering design artifacts such as Use Cases and SysML diagrams
• The ideal candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and demonstrate the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment Preferred Qualifications:
• C++ experience is highly preferred
• Windows experience is a plus
• Command and control system application development
• Experience with Software Integration and formal testing
• Knowledge and experience implementing Cyber Security/RMF requirements
• Ability to present advanced concepts to non-software engineers, including senior program and military leaders
• Experience with performance modeling
• Experience working with microservices
