Position Details
Under the direction of the assistant principal and head coach, provide leadership and support for a high school athletic program by coordinating all interscholastic athletic activities, and make recommendations to the assistant principal regarding athletic budgets, student activities, and all other matters affecting the interscholastic athletic program.
Essential Functions - Typical Duties
Assist with the organization of transportation services to all athletic contests away from the school campus. Coordinate all athletic activities on the campus, and arranges all needed supervision and security. Make recommendation to assistant principal and head coach to approve requisitions for equipment and supplies. Monitor the maintenance of athletic facilities. Monitors program for adherence to District and California Interscholastic Federation--Southern Section policies and procedure guidelines. Assist the head coach with coordination of all facets of athletic eligibility, including athletic insurance, physical examinations and academic requirements. Represent the school at league and California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section meetings and functions. Establish and maintain rapport between coaches and athletic teams. Assist with the organizing awards, banquets and other events for the athletic teams. Follow a planned professional growth program, participates actively in local, state and national high school athletics associations, and studies local, state and national guidelines for effective high school athletics programs. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications - Education and Experience
High School Graduate. Athletic experience at a comparable level of competition.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
First Aide/CPR Card, valid California Class C Driver's License and proof of insurance. Must have an A.S.E.P. (American Sport Education Program) Certificate or complete an in-service class on "Principle of Coaching," administered by the site administrator within 30 days of employment.
