On our team, you’ll have the support to excel at work and the resources to build a career you can be proud of.

At GXO, we look for employees who take pride in their work and show dedication to their job. As the Sr. Manager, Environmental Health and Safety, your leadership and experience will ensure our operations continue to run smoothly. If you’re excited about the challenge of working for a dynamic global company, we have an opportunity for you to grow with GXO.

Pay, benefits and more.

The annual salary range for this role is $136,455.00 - $151,617.00. GXO, in good faith, believes this is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in CA. This rate may be modified in the future. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), and other benefits to eligible employees. You can apply for this role by clicking on the Apply now button at the bottom of this posting (or through the Employee Job Hub if you are a current GXO employee). Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable. The amount and availability of any bonus, commission, benefits, or any other form of compensation and benefits that are allocable to a particular employee remains in the Company’s sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified at the Company’s sole discretion, consistent with the law.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

Direct the activities of Site and District Safety Managers within a high-volume, automated supply chain environment; partner closely with Operations leadership to achieve key safety and performance objectives across all shifts.

Champion a proactive safety culture within a high automation and PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) environment, ensuring safe interactions between associates, equipment, and automated systems

Lead and standardize case management processes, ensuring timely reporting, thorough investigation, and effective resolution of all incidents, injuries, and near misses

Oversee and enhance the onsite Athletic Trainer (AT) program, driving early intervention, injury prevention, ergonomic support, and effective return-to-work programs

Recognize and promote top safety performers to strengthen engagement and reinforce a culture of accountability and ownership

Identify trends and opportunities through data analysis (recordables, near misses, ergonomic risks) and provide clear, actionable direction to site and regional leadership

Develop and lead cross-functional safety initiatives to support a zero-incident culture, partnering with Operations, Engineering, HR, and Maintenance

Ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards, with a strong emphasis on PIT safety, automation safeguards, lockout/tagout, and material handling processes

Drive consistent execution of safety audits, risk assessments, and Gemba walks; implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives

Partner with training teams to ensure robust onboarding and ongoing certification for PIT operators, automation technicians, and all safety-critical roles

Ensure all incidents, injuries, and regulatory matters are thoroughly investigated, root causes identified (RCCA), and sustainable corrective actions implemented

Establish clear goals and performance expectations for safety teams; coach leaders to use structured problem-solving methodologies (A3, RCCA) to drive long-term improvements

Collaborate with site leadership to integrate safety into daily operations, reinforcing that safety is a core value embedded in all processes—not a priority that shifts

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you’ll need:

  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience implementing environmental compliance programs
  • 3 years of supervisory/management experience in a team-focused environment
  • Experience interpreting and applying state and federal environmental regulations
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

It’d be great if you also have:
