Responsibilities

How you’ll make an impact in this role 

  • Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs complex utility systems, including central steam, chemical water treatment, boilers, and industrial air conditioning/compressor systems. 
  • Troubleshoots, services, and installs a wide array of equipment, including electric motors, pumps, commercial/lab appliances, and facility motor vehicles. 
  • Utilizes specialized hand/power tools, welding torches, and fabrication equipment to perform electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, and pipe-fitting work across the facility. 
  • Assists in maintaining strict compliance with local, State, Federal, and Joint Commission (TJC) standards by conducting safety audits, drills, and managing official regulatory documentation. 
  • Leads special projects, coordinates department orientations, conducts employee safety training, and serves as the internal Subject Matter Expert (SME) on healthcare facility maintenance and life safety codes. 

Qualifications

Must have one or more of the following: 

  • Graduate of trade school and 3 years’ experience 
  • 5 years’ relevant experience 
  • Other equivalent combination of relevant education or experience
