Job description

Physical Therapist

Conduct comprehensive physical therapy evaluations to assess gross motor development, mobility, balance, coordination, posture, strength, and functional performance. Utilize clinical observations, standardized assessments, and educational data to determine student needs. Complete reevaluations and progress monitoring according to requirements. Participate as a related service provider during meetings. Develop measurable motor and mobility goals aligned with educational needs. Provide direct and consultative physical therapy services as outlined in student plans. Monitor progress toward goals and provide updates during reviews and reporting periods. Design and implement individualized treatment plans. Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to improve gross motor skills, balance and coordination, mobility and gait, postural control, and functional participation in activities. Recommend environmental adaptations and accommodations that increase student access to instruction. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, social workers, nurses, psychologists, and administrators. Provide recommendations to support student participation in classrooms and school-related activities. Consult with families regarding student progress and strategies that support functional success. Assess student needs for adaptive equipment and mobility devices. Assist with the selection, fitting, and monitoring of wheelchairs, walkers, standers, adaptive seating, and other devices. Train staff and caregivers on proper equipment use and safety procedures. Maintain accurate treatment records, service logs, progress reports, and evaluation documentation. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and policies. Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with guidelines. Ability to move, lift, and position students safely. Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and assist with mobility activities throughout the day. Ability to operate therapy and adaptive equipment. Strong problem-solving and student advocacy skills. Familiarity with multidisciplinary team collaboration preferred.
