A subsidiary of UGI Corporation, UGI Energy Services supplies and markets natural gas, liquid fuels, renewable natural gas, and electricity to 42,000 customer locations across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern US. Along with buying and selling energy commodities at the wholesale level, UGIES owns and operates key midstream natural gas assets.

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment, machinery, and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operations. This role involves diagnosing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, performing repairs, and maintaining accurate service records, while adhering to all safety protocols and company procedures
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Maintain equipment such as pumps, motors, compressors, and conveyors
  • Ensure all work complies with company, project, and regulatory safety requirements, participate in safety audits and inspections
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and equipment histories in the CMMS (computerized maintenance management system)
  • Hands on troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of pumps, motors, compressors, conveyors and other mechanical systems
  • Access the tops of tanks to perform routine maintenance
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and outside contractors to coordinate maintenance activities and equipment upgrades
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on anaerobic digesters, including agitators, mixers, heating systems, and associated piping and valves
  • Maintain and repair biogas upgrading skids, including membrane separation systems, compressors, and gas conditioning equipment, to ensure consistent RNG quality output
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and service flare systems to ensure reliable operation and compliance with environmental and safety regulations
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and unplanned outages to minimize facility downtime
  • Follow all facility safety protocols, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and hazardous gas monitoring procedures
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with facility housekeeping standards

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Working knowledge of rotating equipment, pumps, compressors, and mechanical systems typical of RNG or biogas facilities
  • Working knowledge of waste treatment processes including centrifuges and DAF system
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Computer skills such as Microsoft office, CMMS, and SAP
  • Basic proficiency with hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and diagnostic equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment manuals

Education and Experience:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or technical certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical technology, or related field preferred
  • Length of Experience: 2-5 years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance, preferably in a biogas, wastewater, oil & gas, or process manufacturing environment

The pay for this position ranges from $52,200.00 to 69,700.00, depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation includes eligibility to earn a performance-based bonus or commissions on completed sales.
