About this role
We are looking for an Emerging Companies + Venture Capital Associate Attorney with 4-6 years of experience to join Morrison & Foerster's top-ranked ECVC practice. You'll partner with high-growth startups and leading investors, delivering strategic counsel from formation through exit in the world's most dynamic innovation ecosystems. This is an opportunity to work on high-value, high-profile matters at a firm known for giving associates real substantive responsibility early on.
What will you be doing?
  • Advising startups and emerging growth companies on seed and venture capital financings using NVCA documents
  • Counseling clients on corporate governance, formation, and general corporate matters
  • Executing domestic M&A transactions for startup companies and investors
  • Working directly with high-caliber tech, life sciences, and CPG clients on complex transactions
  • Managing internal and external client relationships with increasing levels of autonomy

Key Requirements
  • 4-6 years of significant experience in emerging companies and venture capital work (class years 2020-2022)
  • Experience with venture financings using NVCA documents at a premier corporate practice
  • Some experience with domestic M&A transactions, particularly for startups and investors
  • Admitted to the state bar in which you are practicing or eligible to waive in
  • Strong academic credentials and proactive, entrepreneurial mindset
