Job Summary
As an Area Manager, you will oversee daily operations across multiple accounts in your assigned territory. You will ensure exceptional service delivery, client satisfaction, crew development, and operational excellence. This role is key to driving crew productivity, workplace safety, and client retention.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Landscape Architecture, or Horticulture preferred
  • Equivalent work experience considered
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years in a related role
  • Commercial property management and HOA Boards experience a plus
Licenses amp; Certifications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Commercial Pesticide Applicators License, or ability to obtain within 1 year
  • Certified Landscape Technician (CLT), or ability to obtain within 1 year
Skills amp; Competencies
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities
  • Excellent relationship-building and client communication skills
  • Proficiency with commercial landscape equipment and irrigation systems
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multi-tasking abilities
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Responsibilities
Client amp; Site Management
  • Serve as the main client contact for day-to-day site issues
  • Conduct site walk-throughs with clients and company representatives
  • Ensure services meet contract specifications, schedules, budgets, and quality standards
  • Identify opportunities for maintenance, irrigation upgrades, and enhancements
Team Leadership amp; Operations
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of 15–20 employees
  • Plan labor needs, hire or terminate staff as necessary
  • Review and approve timesheets for payroll accuracy
  • Foster employee morale, recognize achievements, and support professional growth
  • Monitor safety compliance and enforce site safety protocols
Business amp; Financial Oversight
  • Analyze cost reports and budget variances
  • Collaborate with Service amp; Operations Support on minor extra work projects
  • Partner with Project Managers on client communications and larger projects
  • Meet or exceed annual sales goals
  • Maintain accurate client and project records in CRM software
