Job description

Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. \r\n**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies** \r\n

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason the position exists is to serve as the manager for\r\nthe county's administrative departments and to coordinate administrative functions for other county\r\ndepartments and state offices. The Administrator reports directly to the Montgomery County\r\nCommission and assists the Commission in developing policy and directing its implementation and\r\nthe delivery of services to the community. Major work responsibilities include providing strategic\r\nleadership and oversight to administrative staff, developing and administering policies and\r\nprocedures, providing oversight for county fiscal activities to include managing the county budget,\r\nassisting the Commission in developing short and long-range plans, responding to public inquiries\r\nand concerns, coordinating legal matters with the County Attorneys and informing the County\r\nCommissioners regarding compliance with state, local and ethics laws, and performing\r\nadministrative duties for the Commission.\r\n

Minimum Qualifications

Must have a Master's Degree in Public or Business\r\nAdministration, or related field, or hold a Juris Doctorate, or be a Certified Public Account, and have\r\na minimum of ten (10) years of senior executive-level experience in administration, finance, or\r\npersonnel administration. Experience in the public sector is preferred and experience in a county or\r\nmunicipal environment is highly preferred.\r\n\r\n\r\nNOTE: Qualifying education, training, and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills,\r\nand abilities to perform the job will be considered.\r\n\r\n
