Class A CDL Heavy Haul Driver


Experienced heavy haul drivers wanted for immediate openings. Earn top pay transporting heavy equipment with one of the Southeast's growing heavy haul carriers — plus receive a $1,000 Sign-On Bonus after 90 days of successful employment!


JB Harris Transport LLC is rapidly expanding and actively seeking experienced, safety-focused Class A CDL Heavy Haul Drivers to join our team. We are hiring both Company Drivers and Owner Operators for regional and over-the-road routes, typically spending 3–4 nights per week away from home. Drivers haul a variety of specialized loads, including construction and industrial equipment, utilizing step deck, lowboy, RGN, and other specialized trailers.

Applicants must reside within approximately one hour of one of our operating locations


Schedule & Travel Requirements

· Regional and over-the-road heavy haul operations

· Drivers can expect to be away from home approximately 3–4 nights per week

· Some routes may require additional overnight travel based on customer needs, permits, and project schedules

· Home time varies based on dispatch, location, and workload


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

· Operate step deck, lowboy, RGN, Landoll, and other specialized heavy haul trailers.

· Safely load, transport, and unload construction and industrial equipment.

· Properly secure loads using chains, binders, straps, and other approved securement devices.

· Interpret and comply with oversize/overweight permit requirements.

· Maintain Hours of Service compliance using Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).

· Follow all FMCSA, OSHA, and company safety regulations.

· Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and en-route inspections.

· Provide professional customer service at job sites and customer locations.

· Complete all required documentation accurately and timely.


Minimum Qualifications

· Valid Class A CDL

· Minimum age of 23 years old

· Current DOT Medical Card

· Minimum 24 months of verifiable tractor-trailer experience

· Strong safety record

· Excellent communication and customer service skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team


Preferred Experience

Training may be available for qualified candidates.

· Lowboy/RGN Experience

· Landoll Experience

· Step Deck Experience

· Manual Transmission Experience (No CDL Restriction Preferred)

· Heavy Equipment Loading and Securement

· Oversized/Overweight Transport Experience


Additional Qualifications a Plus

· Multi-Axle Heavy Haul Experience (up to 12 Axles)

· TWIC Card

· Operating Earthmoving Equipment

· Aerial Lift Equipment Experience

· Touch Freight Experience

· Doubles/Triples Endorsement
