Job description

Definition:

The Healthcare Data Analyst sits between traditional data analysis and data science, translating raw and processed claims, ADT, clinical, and operational data into actionable insights for ACO REACH, LEAD, and related value-based care programs. This role utilizes and builds predictive and risk-stratification models, identifying trends across risk adjustment, utilization, and quality performance, and packages findings into dashboards and reports used by leadership, internal operations, and provider-facing teams. The role requires strong applied analytical skill, healthcare domain fluency, and the judgment to know when a simple solution is better than a complex one.

The Healthcare Data Analyst reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer of Intrinsia Health.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze data from technology platforms and systems
  • Leverage third-party models supporting risk adjustment (HCC/RAF trend and gap-capture prediction), utilization forecasting, and High Needs eligibility screening
  • Analyze claims and beneficiary-level CMS data to identify performance trends across ACO REACH and LEAD populations, including benchmark variance, quality gaps, and network-level cost drivers
  • Build and maintain ACO and practice-level financial performance dashboards, including YTD performance as well as full year forecasts
  • Design and maintain dashboards and self-service reporting tools for internal leadership and provider partners
  • Translate CMS Financial Methodology changes into updated model assumptions and re-run downstream analyses
  • Leveraging third-party outputs (e.g., Wakely), support network optimization analysis, identifying anchor TINs, minimum beneficiary threshold sensitivities, and participant mix scenarios
  • Track and report on care-delivery metrics (e.g., AWV completion, chronic HCC recapture, monthly meeting attendance) tied to practice quality withhold and earnback methodology
  • Present findings in clear, decision-oriented formats to non-technical stakeholders, flagging assumptions, confidence, and limitations
  • Maintain documentation of model logic and refresh cadence so work is auditable and transferable
  • Stay current on data analytics tools, programming languages and emerging technologies

Required Qualifications / Skills:

  • 3-5 years of experience in healthcare data analysis, health plan analytics, or population health analytics
  • Strong SQL skills; working proficiency in Python for modeling and data manipulation
  • Experience with healthcare claims data structures (CCLF/BCDA, medical claims, eligibility/enrollment files)
  • Proficiency building dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent BI tooling.
  • Working knowledge of Medicare ACO mechanics — shared savings, risk adjustment/HCC-RAF, benchmarking; sufficient to interpret CMS methodology documents independently
  • Ability to communicate technical findings to clinical and executive audiences
  • Excellent communication skills

Preferred Qualifications / Skills:

  • Direct experience with ACO REACH, MSSP, LEAD, or other CMMI innovation models
  • Experience with complex/high-needs populations and data sets
  • Exposure to actuarial concepts (VRDC-based analysis, benchmark construction)
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, health informatics, public health, or related field
