Job description

Harness your expertise to build pivotal relationships, identify areas of improvement, increase efficiencies, and lead our products to their launch. 
 
As a Senior Market and Product Expansion Associate in Payments Industry Advocacy, you will help shape our point of view and the firmwide advocacy strategy for Payments. You work across the organization, build critical relationships, and prepare the products to go to market. You will also support the development and execution of advocacy strategies to engage with policymakers and regulators, contributing JPMorgan Payments' expertise to evolving industry and regulatory frameworks. 

JPMorgan Payments actively participates in and leads a significant change agenda through our PaymentsIndustry Advocacy team. The objective of the team is to influence and advise Payments product owners and Firmwide stakeholders on emerging global payments industry and public policy trends, as well as related and product opportunities. 


 
Job responsibilities
  • Develops a strong understanding of our products and services to effectively tailor collateral to specific markets
  • Evaluate market and regulatory trends, and relevant client and industry developments, and present insights and recommendations to senior leaders across the firm
  • Builds and maintains working relationships with stakeholders across distinct functions including Legal, Risk, Compliance Operations, and Technology
  • Draft briefing memos and strategic presentations to effectively convey JPM Payments insights and point of view for internal and external audiences 
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and clients to understand challenges, regulatory priorities, and operational realities; translate insights into advocacy positions, messaging, and engagement strategies 
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 3+ years of experience or equivalent expertise working in Government Relations / Public Policy, Product, Technology, or Project Management
  • Developing knowledge of risk management and controls, regional and local nuances, and governance requirements
  • Strong understanding of the payments landscape, business models, and regulatory environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze opportunities and challenges, recommend solutions, and communicate effectively (both verbal and written)
  • Working knowledge of public policy and regulatory change, including regional and local nuances
  • Experience in developing advocacy positions, messaging, and engagement strategies 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience in consulting and strategy, with ability to contribute to successful strategy recommendations for financial services companies
  • Experience engaging with policymakers, industry associations, standards bodies, and public consultations
