Summary
CHS, INC is hiring a Grain Quality Control Inspector (Grader) responsible for inspecting, grading, and documenting inbound and outbound grain to ensure it meets quality standards and customer requirements. This role conducts sampling and testing, maintains accurate records, and partners with operations to identify and resolve quality concerns while ensuring compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Responsibilities
  • Grade and inspect grain for quality, damage, and condition.
  • Accurately document grain grades according to U.S. Grade Standards.
  • Verify the accuracy of inbound and outbound grain grades.
  • Operate grading and testing equipment, including moisture, protein, dockage, and weighing systems.
  • Monitor grain quality and storage conditions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grading area and workspaces.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and operational procedures.

Minimum Qualifications (required)
  • 2+ years of experience in Operations and/or Production Operations

Additional Qualifications
  • High School Diploma and/or post-secondary education, preferred
  • Weight and grade certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to operate grain grading and testing equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work a rotating 12-hour shift schedule.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, twist, and perform repetitive hand movements.
  • Ability to work in an industrial grain-handling environment.

Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
