  • Provide customer training and handover documentation for operators and facility staff, explaining system operation, alarm response, and preventive best practices.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts, tools, and test equipment; order parts and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely replacement components.
  • Adhere to safety policies and regulatory requirements onsite, perform risk assessments, and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting system enhancements, retrofits, or process changes to improve availability and serviceability.

Qualifications

  • Associate or Bachelors degree in Electrical, Controls, Mechanical, or a related engineering/technical field or equivalent technical certifications and experience.
  • 3+ years of field service or commissioning experience with controls, BMS, DDC, PLCs, SCADA, or HMI systems; data center or mission-critical facility experience strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience programming, configuring, and troubleshooting common PLC platforms and control system protocols (Modbus, BACnet, OPC, Ethernet/IP, etc.).

  • Familiarity with network fundamentals (TCP/IP, switches, VLANs) as related to building automation and control networks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on root-cause analysis and preventive solutions in high-availability environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience producing service reports and conducting customer training.
  • Ability to travel frequently to customer sites, work independently, and remain on-call for emergency response; valid drivers license required.
  • Relevant certifications a plus: BICSI, NICET, Certified Controls Engineer, vendor-specific PLC/BMS certifications, or manufacturer commissioning credentials.
