This is a position to help grow our Personal Training department by working in a creative, fun and upbeat atmosphere where every day is different.

Personal Trainer

The Personal Trainer’s focus is on helping the member “Get to a Healthier Place®” by employing both Anytime Fitness and the personal trainer’s creative approach. Each member will receive an initial fitness consultation that will set the PT on a path for establishing a 1-1 rapport with the member. With access to a facility that includes any/all types of the latest equipment available, the personal trainer will guide the member to their greatest levels of personal achievement in physical health. The Personal Trainer is responsible for client and member experience, contributing to overall club sales, and gym maintenance at the club.

Position:

  • Part-time, base hourly rate plus commission compensation.
  • Minimum of 10 hours regularly scheduled availability is required. 
  • Business days are Monday through Friday.
  • Some Evenings and Saturdays may be required.
  • Flexible scheduling available.

Key Responsibilities & Performance Expectations:

  • Punctual and prepared for all appointments with clients or staff meetings
  • Actively grow personal training revenue and retail sales within the club.
  • Maintain an active presence on the club’s social media platforms to strengthen member connection, engagement, and club culture.
  • Prioritize an exceptional member experience by providing consistent follow-up with both current members and prospective clients.
  • Lead comprehensive fitness consultations, including health screenings, medical and lifestyle assessments, and goal-setting sessions to create appropriate training recommendations.
  • Properly operate body composition scanning equipment and clearly explain results to members.
  • Facilitate structured training sessions for individuals and small groups (1–15 participants).
  • Supervise workouts to ensure members are exercising safely, effectively, and with proper form.
  • Uphold cleanliness standards by routinely maintaining equipment and overall club appearance.
  • Evaluate performance reports and club metrics to identify opportunities, trends, and areas for improvement.
  • Motivate members to stay committed to their goals by providing ongoing encouragement and accountability.
  • Maintain active certifications and pursue continuing education to stay informed on industry best practices and emerging trends.

Physical Demands:

  • A Personal Trainer spends much of the day in their office and on their feet.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • National fitness certification (NASM, ACE, ISSA, or NCCA accredited equivalent), or college degree in Exercise Science or equivalent, is required.
  • CPR/AED certification must be current or obtained.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, functional exercise, basic nutrition, and basic exercise science.
  • Previous PT experience in either a fitness facility or private training environment is preferred.
  • Sales experience preferred.
  • Superior communication skills (verbal & written) with the ability to connect with people while motivating them to achieve their goals.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
