Clinic Registered Nurse - Cardiac Device - Boulder Heart

$34.78 - $52.17 an hour - Full-Time Days, 30 hours per week
Boulder Community Health is seeking a Cardiac Device Nurse for Boulder Heart who is responsible for the clinical, technical, and educational aspects related to the care of those patients who have implanted cardiac devices. They perform device checks and remote monitoring of implanted cardiac devices, as well as post-implant site checks.

Qualifications
• Colorado RN License in good standing required.
• 1 year minimum Cardiology/Telemetry experience as an RN
• Previous experience with implantable cardiac devices, programmers and device interrogation required.
Responsibilities
• Implements essential patient teaching elements, and serves as a resource for patient concerns and questions, upon hospital discharge, and throughout device/patient lifetime.
• Oversees post procedural appointments for cardiac device generator replacements, and new implants. Incorporates patient and family education, and the SSI strategies reflective of SCIP and IHI best practices.
• Provides patient education and troubleshooting to promote and maintain remote patient follow-up by trans-telephonic monitoring
• Responsible for trouble-shooting, evaluating and interpreting technical and arrhythmia information upon interrogation of the implanted cardiac device, and subsequent physician communication
• Employees are expected to comply with all regulatory requirements, including Joint Commission Standards.
• Is familiar with organization, department and job specific Environment of Care areas, including Life Safety, Utilities Management, Hazardous Materials Communications, Emergency Preparedness, Infection Control and Medical Equipment Failure.
