SBA Construction Multi-Disbursement Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced SBA Construction Loan Multiple Disbursement (MD) Specialist to join a growing SBA lending team. The MD Specialist plays a critical role in the disbursement process for SBA 7(a) construction loans, ensuring smooth, compliant, and timely funding of draws throughout the life of the project. This individual will coordinate with closers, loan operations staff, and third-party vendors to verify documentation, review draw requests, and qualify contractors.
Ideal candidates may have prior experience as a loan closer, loan administrator, or in construction draw processing. A strong understanding of construction documentation, and multi-disbursement practices is essential.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary contact for construction loan draw disbursements post-closing.
  • Conduct pre-close reviews for construction-related SBA loans to ensure documentation is complete and provide a “free to close” approval to the closer.
  • Review and process draw requests, ensuring alignment with project budgets, timelines, and SBA guidelines.
  • Analyze construction documents including AIA forms G702 and G703, lien waivers, and contractor qualifications (e.g., AAA contractor status).
  • Maintain organized and accurate records for each disbursement and loan file in accordance with SBA and internal policies.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including borrowers, general contractors, inspectors, and monitoring firms.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in, construction draw processing, or related administrative functions.
  • Familiarity with SBA 7(a) loan requirements, construction compliance, and multi-disbursement procedures.
  • Strong working knowledge of AIA Forms G702 & G703 and construction project documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and loan origination systems; experience with construction monitoring platforms is a plus.
