  1. Assessment and Intervention:
  • Conduct initial assessments of conflicts or incidents to determine appropriate intervention strategies.
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to students, teachers, and staff members experiencing interpersonal conflicts or behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborate with the Behavioral Health Supervisor and other team members to develop and implement intervention plans tailored to the needs of individuals and the school community.
  1. Training and Education:
  • Deliver training sessions and workshops on conflict resolution, restorative justice principles, and communication skills for students, teachers, and staff.
  • Promote a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusivity through educational initiatives and awareness campaigns.
  • Provide ongoing support and resources to empower stakeholders to effectively manage conflicts and build positive relationships.
  1. Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of mediation sessions, intervention plans, and outcomes.
  • Prepare reports and updates for the Behavioral Health Supervisor and other relevant stakeholders to track progress and identify trends or areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards regarding confidentiality, consent, and reporting requirements.
  1. Collaboration and Teamwork:
  • Work collaboratively with the trauma counselors and restorative justice conflict resolution team members to provide holistic support to the school community.
  • Participate in regular team meetings, case consultations, and professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Foster positive relationships with school administrators, teachers, parents, and community partners to promote a coordinated and integrated approach to addressing conflicts and supporting student well-being.

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport, facilitate difficult conversations, and work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, critical thinking skills, and emotional intelligence.
  • Capacity for empathy, patience, and resilience in challenging situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
  • Willingness to undergo background checks and comply with school policies and procedures.
