Job description

JOB TITLE: Machine Operator - Night Shift

DEPARTMENT: Production

LOCATION: Schertz, Texas

SHIFT: 7:00 PM - 5:30AM

PAY: $18.09 per hour

TRAVEL: No

Red River Brick is seeking a Machine Operator for our manufacturing facility in Ogden, TX. Red River Brick is a subsidiary of General Shale Brick, North America’s largest manufacturer of clay bricks and other masonry materials.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow General Shale safety standards and procedures.
  • Perform necessary pre-operation activities to ensure proper equipment startup and operation on multiple pieces of equipment.
  • Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure minimal unplanned stops.
  • Follow cleaning procedures at the end of each shift.
  • Executing fault finding (trouble shooting) guides.
  • Communicate issues with equipment to the supervisor.
  • Responsible for operating the strap station.
  • Candidate will use a panel view to control the equipment in manual mode to perform set-ups or troubleshoot problems at the equipment.
  • Must display a good working knowledge of all control and monitoring devices such as; photo cells, proximity switches, pneumatic controls and hydraulic controls.

EDUCATION:

  • High school

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience operating a Columbia or similar block machine preferred.
  • Knowledge on Signode strap and sealing heads is a plus.
  • Mechanical skills
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team.
