Job description

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Braze's product is the control center for thousands of the world's most sophisticated marketing teams. The Frontend Infrastructure & Experience (FIX) team builds the platform foundations that every product engineer relies on and owns key parts of the end-user experience.

The team makes it easy for engineers across Braze to build polished, accessible, and consistent UIs. FIX owns our design system and component library, internationalization stack, code generation and scaffolding tooling, and the navigation and routing layer of the product. The team also owns key customer-facing experiences including our data tables and our rich text, drag-and-drop, and code editors.

As a Senior Engineer on FIX, you will build high-impact frontend infrastructure and product experiences used across Braze. You will lead important projects from design through rollout, raise the quality bar through technical judgment and code review, and help other engineers move faster by making the product easier to build, test, and maintain.

In this role you will:

  • Design and build foundational frontend systems, components, tools, and patterns used by engineers across Braze
  • Lead large projects end-to-end, including technical design, implementation, testing, rollout, and operational follow-through
  • Improve the developer experience of working in a large TypeScript and React codebase through better abstractions, tooling, documentation, and examples
  • Build customer-facing product experiences that are polished, accessible, performant, and consistent with Braze's product standards
  • Partner with product engineers, designers, and infrastructure teams to solve cross-cutting frontend problems
  • Mentor other engineers through code review, pairing, technical guidance, and clear communication

Recent and ongoing work on the team includes:

  • Developing the framework used to build our marketing message editors
  • Migrating the navigation and routing layer to a fully React-based system
  • Extending the design system with semantic tokens and supporting a product rebrand
  • Building type-safe scaffolding and API tooling for frontend development
  • Improving frontend testing infrastructure with Cypress, Jest, and related tooling
  • Advancing accessibility, localization, and consistency across product experiences

Parts of our stack with which you will work:

  • TypeScript, React
  • Cypress, Jest, RSpec
  • Frontend build, packaging, and code generation tooling
  • Ruby on Rails

WHO YOU ARE

  • Have 5+ years of software engineering experience with a strong track record of technical impact
  • Are highly skilled in modern frontend development, especially TypeScript and React
  • Have experience building reusable frontend systems, components, tools, or infrastructure
  • Care deeply about user experience, accessibility, performance, and maintainability
  • Are comfortable working in a large frontend codebase with many stakeholders
  • Communicate clearly, collaborate well across teams, and help raise the technical bar for those around you
  • Bonus experience
    • Experience building design systems or component libraries
    • Experience with frontend testing frameworks such as Cypress or Jest
    • Experience with code generation, linting, codemods, or other developer tooling
    • Experience with internationalization, localization, or accessibility
    • Experience with Ruby on Rails

For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $128,842 and $209,368/year with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $144,000 and $234,000/year (including bonus or commission). Your exact offer may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
