  • Troubleshoot equipment and in-house processes as required.

  • Develop and assist with implementation of new and improved manufacturing methods.


Job description

There is an opening for a Mechanical Engineer at Ellwood National Forge in Corry, PA, however from time to time maybe assigned to work at the Irvine/Warren plants.
The Engineer is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
  • Managing of Capital equipment projects (new and re-builds), configuration, justification, location, installation and start-up
  • Trouble shooting of equipment and in-house processes as required
  • Developing and assisting with implementation of new and improved manufacturing methods
  • Interface with and support production to achieve "Best in Class" practices
  • Devise and implement process improvements and cost reduction
  • Assist maintenance to improve equipment reliability and productivity
  • Setting clear expectations for team members and evaluate needs of team
  • Solve organizational and production problems.
  • Research, develop, collect and report information on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment.
  • Performs other duties as deemed necessary.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 4 year degree in Manufacturing Technology or Engineering or related field
  • Experience in metal cutting operations
  • Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Syteline)
  • Ability to work independently (self-directed) on projects
  • Ability to lead and direct team efforts
  • Strong math skills and problem solving ability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with installation and commission of newly purchased equipment and relocation of refurbished/existing equipment
  • Detail oriented with the ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with medium and large machine tool builder and /or refurbishing operations
  • Maintenance background
  • BSME / BSMET
  • EIT Certification
  • CAM experience ( Mastercam)
