As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorganChase within the Corporate and Investment Bank, Post Trade Technology -Operations Case Management & AI Automation Platforms, you will lead a global technology organization with end-to-end build-and-run ownership of a strategic case management, workflow/task orchestration, and automation platforms utilized across the CIB. The platform supports more than 10,000 users and is engineered to a 99.99% uptime target, enabling critical daily operations and client service through event-based intake (exceptions and email), integration with systems of record, automation through AI capabilities, and robust audit trails, controls and analytics.
Job responsibilities
  • Define and execute a strategy that includes convergence of operational workflows onto a single highly scalable platform.
  • Drive platform evolution across case management, workflow/task orchestration, event intake, automation integration, AI enablement, auditability, and analytics.
  • Lead design and delivery within a hybrid cloud architecture (on-prem + AWS), establishing strong engineering practices: architecture governance, data design, security, SDLC, CI/CD, automated testing, performance engineering, scalability and resiliency.
  • Own delivery against a 99.9% uptime target; partner with Production Support and SRE to ensure effective incident response, problem management, and recurrence prevention.
  • Lead major incident governance, post-incident reviews, corrective action plans, and resiliency testing.
  • Deliver AI-integrated capabilities that improve operational execution and client service (e.g., intelligent intake/triage, routing, case enrichment, agent assist resolution), with appropriate controls and governance.
  • Enable integration with automation solutions and systems of record to increase straight-through processing and reduce manual touchpoints.
  • Ensure comprehensive audit trails and analytics/MI to support operational transparency, performance management, and audit readiness. Maintain governance for access, change/release, data protection, and control remediation.
  • Partner with Operations, Control functions, and Product team to align priorities, manage dependencies, and deliver meaningful outcomes. Communicate clearly to senior stakeholders on platform health, delivery progress, risk, and investment.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing global organization (engineers, engineering leads, BAs), including talent strategy, hiring, coaching, and succession planning.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ year of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise and more broadly across the organization
  • Demonstrated experience leading global, distributed teams and operating with strong execution discipline across time zones.
  • Track record of owning reliability outcomes for platforms with demanding availability targets (e.g., 99.99% uptime), including executive-level incident leadership and remediation governance.
  • Expertise in case management/workflow/task orchestration and event-driven architecture (e.g., Kafka-based intake).
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes and hybrid architecture (on-prem + AWS), including observability and performance engineering.
  • Proven ownership of technology budgets and delivery within financial constraints across people, infrastructure, and software.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills; ability to partner effectively with Operations and Product leadership.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience integrating AI into operational workflows with appropriate governance and human-in-the-loop controls.
  • Experience with Camunda (or similar workflow engines) and enterprise-scale audit/analytics for case lifecycle management.
  • Modernization experience in hybrid cloud, including resiliency patterns, cost optimization, and multi-deployment strategies.
