Description
Lou Bachrodt Automotive Group is searching for talented Automotive Service Technicians to maintain and service customers' vehicles. Schedule: Monday-Friday and Saturdays as needed. Day shift 7am-5pm
Responsibilities:
  • Vehicle Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify issues and determine necessary repairs.
  • Diagnostics: Use specialized diagnostic tools and equipment to identify problems with engines, electrical systems, brakes, transmissions, and other vehicle components.
  • Repair and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as engine overhauls, brake repairs, suspension work, and oil changes.
  • Parts Replacement: Replace or repair faulty components like spark plugs, filters, belts, hoses, and brakes.
  • Engine Performance: Tune engines for optimal performance, including adjustments to fuel injection systems, ignition timing, and emissions control.
  • Wheel Alignment and Balancing: Align and balance wheels to ensure proper handling and tire wear.
  • Air Conditioning and Heating: Service and repair HVAC systems to maintain climate control in vehicles.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed records of all repairs, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostic findings.
  • Test Drives: Conduct test drives to verify that repairs have been completed successfully and the vehicle is operating correctly.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that vehicles meet safety and emissions standards by conducting inspections and making necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Use of Tools and Equipment: Operate a wide range of tools and equipment, including hand tools, power tools, computerized diagnostic equipment, and lifts.
  • Time Management: Efficiently manage time to complete tasks within reasonable timeframes and meet customer expectations.

Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Completion of a formal automotive technology program from a vocational school, community college, or technical institute is often preferred.
  • GM ASEP Certification, preferred
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in automotive maintenance and repair.
  • Valid driver's license and in good standing.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

Compensation: Competitive industry flat rate; dependent on experience, certifications and other accolades.
