Industry UsageCommonly employed in automation, manufacturing, and industrial sectorsUsed across similar industries for installation and repair of automation equipment
Job FocusDesign, programming, and control of automation systemsInstallation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of automation equipment

While both roles operate within automation environments, Commission Automation Control specialists focus on programming and controlling automation systems, whereas Commission Technicians primarily handle installation and maintenance tasks. Understanding these differences helps clarify career paths and job expectations in automation industries.

How much do automation integrators make?

Automation integrators typically earn between $60,000 and $100,000 annually, depending on experience, certifications, and the complexity of projects they handle. Senior or specialized professionals with advanced skills in PLCs, robotics, and control systems can earn higher salaries, often exceeding $100,000. Compensation also varies based on geographic location and industry demand for automation expertise.

What commission job makes the most money?

In commission-based roles, high-earning positions include sales executives, real estate agents, and financial advisors, with top performers earning six-figure incomes or more through commissions and bonuses. Success often depends on experience, industry, and sales volume, with some roles requiring certifications or specialized knowledge.

What is commissioning in automation?

Commissioning in automation involves testing, adjusting, and validating control systems and equipment to ensure they operate according to design specifications before full operation. For a Commission Automation Control role, it requires knowledge of control systems, troubleshooting skills, and familiarity with industry standards to ensure successful system startup and performance verification.

Is automation a good career choice?

A career in automation control involves designing, programming, and maintaining automated systems used in manufacturing and industrial processes. It requires technical skills, knowledge of control systems, and often certifications or training in PLCs and SCADA systems. Automation is a growing field with demand for skilled professionals, offering opportunities for advancement and stable employment.

  • Strong knowledge of power monitoring systems (EPMS), industrial automation, and cybersecurity best practices for control systems.
  • Experience with programming and configuring automation platforms for real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance.
  • Familiarity with NFPA, ISA, NIST, and industry standards related to automation and control in mission-critical environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
