Position: Licensed Land Surveyor
Location : Tamarac, Florida (This is not a Remote Work Position)
Job Type: Full-Time

Join our Team as a Surveyor at FG Construction! FG Construction, LLC has an exceptional opportunity and vital role for a Land Surveyor to establish themselves with a rapidly growing construction company. FG Construction is a commercial concrete repair and asphalt paving contractor looking for a self-driven talented person who demonstrates a commitment to excellence in work and who possesses the character needed for teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
  • Conduct construction layout surveys for construction/roadway projects.
  • Perform staking and layout for road alignments, grading, drainage systems, curbs, and utilities.
  • Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and engineering drawings to guide fieldwork.
  • Operate and maintain surveying equipment such as GPS, total stations, levels, and data collectors.
  • Maintain detailed field notes and electronic data files in accordance with project standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and inspectors to resolve discrepancies and ensure accuracy.
  • Verify existing site conditions and provide feedback to project managers on potential conflicts or design issues.
  • Monitor and report project progress to ensure survey work aligns with construction timelines.
  • Perform all other relevant duties as assigned by management.
     

Required Skills And Experience

Must be a self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities who is motivated to set and achieve goals and takes initiative within the workplace. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, but a positive attitude is a must! Specific requirements include:
 
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in construction, civil engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 years of experience in construction surveying, preferably on roadway or infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Proficiency in using modern surveying instruments GPS, total stations, data collectors, and related software.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or other design software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of DOT standards and roadway construction practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong math, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent Communication Skills, both written and verbal.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
