POSITION:             Case Manager/School Social Worker - Autism
                               Ten (10) Month Position  

START DATE:        September 1, 2026 - Pending Criminal History Clearance 
MINIMAL ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS:


  • New Jersey State Department of Education Certificate as a Teacher of the Handicapped, Teacher of Students with Disabilities required
  • Master's degree in education from an accredited college/university
  • Evidence of at least three (3) years successful experience in the field of certification(s)
  • Certification and experience in Social Work, Psychology, Speech Language, Pupil Personnel Services and or Board-Certified Behavior Analyst preferred
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Commission may find appropriate and acceptable


RESPONSIBLE TO:
Program Administrator designated by the Board or Superintendent
SCOPE:



  • Provide direct case management services to students thereby supporting teaching staff in the full implementation IEPs through interactions with students, parents, instructional staff, resident district personnel, community agencies, etc., and as appropriate monitor student progress and the maintenance of required student records and reports
  • To identify professional development needs and as directed by the program administrator and assist in organizing in-service, training, and individual consultations for school staff
  • Provide to staff information on varied teaching strategies and needed expertise that is required in the development of successful instructional programs
  • Provide support for a positive educational therapeutic classroom atmosphere through proactive crisis intervention and direct intervention to students as required
  • The Case Manager will report directly to the program administrator fulfilling duties as directed


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To confer with teachers, parents/guardians, child study team members and administrators concerning student problems requiring more efficient coordination and communication
  • Provide staff with information and needed expertise on student learning styles that are important in the full implementation of instructional guide and student IEP's
  • Demonstrate a variety of teaching methods thereby preparing staff for the delivery of a highly effective instructional program for students
  • Support teaching staff in the integration of related services within the classroom
  • To provide appropriate input during staffing and appropriate follow-up
  • To participate in ongoing self-reflection of one's professional practice as it pertains to the continued improvement of school services to students
  • To demonstrate ability to work in a professional manner with pupils, parents, coworkers, administration and the community at large
  • To adhere to all published school policies including those which pertain to reports, forms, confidentiality of records, supervision of children, safety, and responsibility for materials and equipment
  • To serve as a resource to school staff in the area of certification or specialty
    • To assist in the screening of new students at the school and to provide the parents/guardians of the students with an orientation/explanation and tour of the school
    • To provide orientations to all new parents/guardians, and resident district personnel
  • To provide crisis intervention support and develop/modify behavioral management and educational programs as prescribed in the student's individual educational plan as directed by the Principal
  • Provide input to the program administrator on students most appropriate class placement
  • Organize, maintain and review students' school records in compliance with N.J.A.C. and document all pertinent communication with school districts, parents and State Agencies
  • To assure the instructional guides including a student's transition plan, are fully implemented
  • Other responsibilities and assignments as directed by the program administrator


BENEFITS: Full-time staff are eligible for Medical, Prescription, and Dental Benefits. Pension system enrollment varies by position and certification.  Sick, Personal and Bereavement Days are included. 
SALARY: Following the established MCESA Salary Guide ranging from Step # 1 MA $61,953 to Step # 20 MA+30 $87,653
